Signet marigolds are small flowered, with edible, citrus flavoured flowers in a wide variety of colours ranging from yellow, orange, red and mahogany, with a number of bi-colours as well. This half-hardy annual is easy to grow and well suited to small gardens as it grows well in containers as well as flower beds.

Signet marigolds may help to repel aphids, so may benefit plants which are susceptible to aphid attack if they are planted close together. In particular they are popularly grown next to tomatoes.
Harvesting
Flowers may be harvested as soon as they are open and are best picked just before they are eaten to enjoy at their best.
