Sweet William is a popular member of the dianthus family and a widely grown sweet scented ornamental flower. The beautiful edible flowers have a white base, with the petals ranging in colour from dark red to purple and pink.

As well as growing in containers, sweet Williams will grow well in floral borders. Try planting in groups for maximum colour impact. They will also make a colourful and beneficial addition to the vegetable garden, encouraging pollinating insects.
Harvesting
You can harvest flowers as soon as they appear. The best time to pick the flowers is in the morning when they are fully open.
