Meadow Buttercup Seeds

Ranunculus acris
Tall buttercup, common buttercup, giant buttercup

Bright and joyful yellow flowers on slender stalks common in meadows and waysides. The meadow buttercup has more delicate foliage than the creeping buttercup that tends to be less dominant (so it won't take over your garden!)

Contents: Approximately 650 seeds

Average height: 80cm
Aspect: full sun, dappled shade, partial shade
Soil type: most soil types
Sowing time: spring or autumn
Flowering period: June-July
Colour: yellow

Ranunculus take their name from 'rana' the latin for frog, probably because of their liking for damp conditions. Ranunculus acris is similar in appearance to the common buttercup, but unlike that plant it doesn't become a nuisance in lawns. It produces bright yellow, button-like flowers in June and July.

For best results grow Ranunculus acris in moist but well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade.

Our packaging is made from FSC recycled cardboard and environmentally friendly inks. The seed bags are waxed paper or compostable starch to keep seeds in the best condition during storage.
